Happy 5th Birthday Jaydyn

We went over to Jaydyns house for her 5th birthday party. We had a lot of fun! We had a barbecue and the kids got to go on the slip n slide and play in the pool and on the slide. Then they went on a treasure hunt around the yard and found all sorts of goodies! Austin and Alyssa LOVE to play with their family especially their cousins.
Later that night Chad and I went out and saw The Simpsons Movie and we actually saw Barts doodle!!! (You'll understand once you see the movie-I was shocked!)

I can't believe summer is almost over....Chad only has 3 more weeks then it's back to school he goes...We better enjoy these next couple of weeks!!

Jaydyn we hope you had a very Happy Birthday-- We love you! Even the "teaser" (Chad)

We're Baaaack!

Hi all. We are back from our trip to Escalante. We had a blast. I think the kids had more fun than we did though. Austin didnt want to come home. He LOVES his Grandpa Spencer and wanted to stay with him, even though he was coming home too. We love having the tradition of going down to Escalante to celebrate Pioneer Day, and when Darrel and Rose move down there next year we will have an excuse to visit more often. Chad and Darrel went fishing the morning after we got there and they came home with a fish that Austin thought was really neat! We went up to Posey Lake and let the kids throw rocks, and look at all the ducks and fish. Grandpa Spencer took Austin to meet some llamas and a goat...He loved them and didnt want to leave them. We rode the four-wheelers for a little bit. Chad makes fun of me and says I dont know how to drive them. I think I do just fine :) The boys were able to paintball quite a bit this time, they had quite a large group for a couple games. Unfortunately I didnt play this time, otherwise I would have for sure shot Nick a whole bunch of times!! We went to the Pioneer Day parade and carnival and watched fireworks where Austin and Alyssa both fell asleep I dont know how, they were right above our heads and loud, wait yes I do, they had worn themselves out during the day with all the excitement from meeting Smokey the Bear and chasing after all the candy during the parade. Alyssa was out there with the big kids running after all the candy filling her hands as full as she could then bringing it back to put in her bag. Austin had quite the traumatic experience at the carnival. There was a set of 3 blowup bouncy slides and Austin really really wanted to go on it, so we paid the $5 he went in climbed up the slide and froze and just cried for us to get him out, we couldnt go get him, so we were telling other kids to help him and then eventually just telling them to push him down the slide but still nothing, so we found this sweet little boy who went in there and helped him climb down and out the front door. All of that and he didnt even make it down the slide. I felt so bad! And before that they had "train rides" which was actually little cars being towed behind four-wheelers which he really wanted to go on then changed his mind at the last minute so Grandma Rose and Alyssa ended up going instead! Mostly we sat back, relaxed, talked and had a great time! Chad will be down there next month for the bowhunt, with Casey, Nick and Darrel. We are glad to be home but are looking forward to going back down in October.

Austin's 3rd Birthday

Happy 3rd Birthday Austin!!!

Our little guy just turned 3! My oh my how time does fly...I cant believe how much he has grown! He has come a long way since being that little tiny 2lb 11.75oz baby. I am so happy to have him and I am so happy with the outcome of those horrible circumstances. We had the whole family over and a few friends to celebrate his birthday. We had a barbecue games and a pinata for the kids and one for the adults too. Austin got to show off on his new trampoline and the kids really LOVED it!! We ate cupcakes while we watched him open his presents. I made him an extra special cake this year. I made a dirt cake complete with gummy worms and crawly things and put it in the back of a huge dump truck, it turned out perfectly! After everyone had gone home and I was tucking Austin in to bed he said "Mom, I really had a fun time at my birthday party today, I love you!" That was the best Thank you ever!!! Thanks everyone you really helped make that day special for all of us....we love you all!!

This is a little late...

I'm slacking a little on my blog...I know, I know....
This is from 07/07/07 we went up American Fork Canyon and had lunch, and then we drove further up the canyon so Chad, Casey and Nick could go paint balling. The girls hung out back at "camp" with the kids. When we left we all looked like we had been up there for weeks when it had only been a few hours...Unfortunately, we all went to dinner at Chili's looking like that. We wanted to hold up a sign that said "Just spent the day in the canyon, no staring please!" oh well, we had fun! After dinner we went back to Nick and Kim's house and watched fireworks....it was a good day!!!

July 4th

Happy 4th of July

Yesterday was a very busy, very fun filled day. We were invited over to Rose's sister Donna's house for a barbecue and pool party. Alyssa didn't want anything to do with it, and she got a little scared of Grandpa Spencer for trying to take her in. Austin took a little to warm up but then he was jumping off the side to dad and playing with Grandma and Grandpa, he had so much fun!
We found out a little while ago that Casey and Diana, are having their first baby and she is due in February!!! We are so excited for them. They will be cute parents. Nick and Kim found out that they are having a baby boy. They already have 2 girls Jaydyn and Alayna, so this will be a change having a little boy running around. We are so excited, now Austin can have a little buddy.
We had my family over at our house for dinner and my sister Jeana's yummy dessert! Afterward we went down to the Sandy fireworks display, we got there a little late but had a perfect spot. Austin and Alyssa loved it, I thought she might get a little scared but she really enjoyed it. During the show 2 fire trucks and a police car showed up, we don't know what happened but the kids thought that all the commotion just added to the event. I hope everything is OK? Did anyone hear anything about what happened? I hope you all had a happy 4Th, we are continuing our celebration this weekend. We are going up to the Mountains and we will have lunch and the boys are going to paintball and then that evening we are going back to Grandma Green's for more fireworks.....I will post more pictures then....
Happy Independence Day!!!

I LOVE summer!!

I can't believe we are already into July! WOW, this year has flown by. Our family has sure been taking advantage of the warm weather and really having a good time this summer. We bought a slip n slide and a little pool for the kids, and that keeps them pretty cool on the super hot days. Alyssa just loves the water and likes to get right in the action, she can hardly wait and always manages to get soaked before she is in her swimming suit! Austin likes the idea of water and we get him all ready and all sun blocked and then he hangs on the sidelines until he's comfortable enough to start playing around. He has been named our 'gardener' he loves to play with the hose and water the dry patches on the grass, and water our little veggies in our garden. But he had a GREAT time on the slip n slide. I always remember having a blast on ours. However ours was extra slippery. My mom and dad had a water bed that they were no longer using so they cut the water mattress and made us our very own, very huge, very slippery, slip n slide-it was Awesome! Austin has been very interested in cooking these days so Chad decided to let him help make our bagel pizzas, he was so proud and kept wanting to peek into the oven to see how they were doing, he was so proud, and I have to say they were extra tasty that night!! We had everyone over tonight to celebrate my brother Kevin's birthday, we decided we would set off our fireworks tonight since everyone was together. The kids went nuts! They all love the bright flashing lights. Alyssa thought she would try to squirm down to go grab it but we kept telling her "Hot! Hot!" so she began saying "Hot! Hot!" and clapping and saying "yaaaa!" after each firework she LOVED it!! She is beginning to be quite the talker, she has learned and can say what a cow, dog, snake, and kitty cat says---very cute if I do say so myself! Austin was really liking them too, he has been talking about fireworks for weeks. He didn't really care for the loud ones though. I cant wait to take them to see the big firework show, they will love it!! Have a very happy 4Th I can't wait to hear about your celebrations and see all of your pictures and I can't wait to share mine!
