Thanksgiving 2008

Sadly I didn't get any pictures of Thanksgiving this year...I know, right? Who is the photographer here? Anyway we were so blessed to be able to have plenty to eat on Thanksgiving and every other day of the year but on Thanksgiving we were able to enjoy two delicious meals!!! Rich and Luan (Chad's mama and step dad) made the best meal. Rich is a phenomenal cook and uses lots of herbs and spices, that make the whole house smell yummy! And Luan was an ANGEL and got my favorite rolls from Gardner Village...I am definitely a carb girl, you can never have enough rolls!! WAIT!!! I did get a picture on Thanksgiving, let me see if I can find it...Yes, I found them so this post won't go without pictures. Anyway, Chad loves the food that is made at his mom's house full of flavor and variety (I do too, but Chad is IN love with it). They really spoiled us! I know they spent a lot of time preparing and putting it all together...Thank you!!!
At my house we are a more plain people. Most people take a picture of "the bird" on Thanksgiving, but like I said before I am a carb girl and come from a carb family. We had rolls and mashed potatoes-a-plenty and a teeny tiny small turkey breast. I am sure most of us wouldn't have missed it if it weren't there. We are not a big meat eating people. So here is our "bird picture" all 72 of them piled high to make a nice centerpiece.

mmm...mmm...good! We dined surrounded by fine art supplied by a Miss Abby Guerricabeitia, the last name alone should tell you it was very expensive:

Thank you to our mamas for making this years Thanksgiving happen for us...you guys are the best!!! I made 2 chocolate pies and 1 banana cream pie and I don't like pumpkin pie so I forgot to throw it in the oven in time, so my pies were a hit!!!

I wanted to start a new tradition with our kids, which was writing our letter to Santa on Thanksgiving night. That way the next day (BLACK FRIDAY) I could get up really early and take the letters to the "post-office" to make sure, they would get the high priority must-have item on their list!

Austin wasn't diggin' it so he chose to play Star Wars legos instead...

decorating their letters for Santa
Alyssa and Haylie were in on the action too...Alyssa of course asked for Princesses, Dollies, Ponies and lipgloss... Haylie asked for princesses pony's and Binky's
Tyler giving it a lot of thought...

Grace knew just what she wanted.....a Laptop....my oh my how the times have changed....

That night my niece, Ashley, and I went to Southtown Mall at midnight, neither of us had any money but if there was a great deal then we would splurge. EVERY store had at least 25% off but nothing that I HAD to get. We tried on a lot of clothes and perfume and then we got some pretzel bites at like 1am (I know, I know HELP ME!!!) and then went home...
Chad and Alyssa went out the next morning and got some DVD's but nothing major. NEXT year I have invited myself to go with my friend Shyann and her family on Black Friday...even if they say no, I am going to follow them, just check out her blog and see how much they got...BLACK FRIDAY!!! The one good deal I got was at Aeropostale (how do you say the name of this store, depending on who you talk to it is something different) they had 50% off everything!!So we got these cute sweaters!
