Happy Halloween everyone!! We had so much fun. Austin and Abby got to perform their songs that they learned in Joy School for the family. Alyssa thought she knew the songs as well as them and joined right in! Afterward we went over to the church for Trunk-or-Treating, it was a lot of fun!! The kids got a lot of candy so we just called it a night. When we got home Alyssa couldn't wait for me to take off the wrappers off the candy so she started eating the candy AND the wrappers! Austin and Alyssa loved running to the door for the trick-or-treaters, Although Austin couldn't understand why we were giving away our candy?!? I hope you all had a fun, safe, Halloween....enjoy our pictures!

We carved our pumpkins tonight to get ready for tomorrow--HALLOWEEN!! Alyssa loved it, she kept shouting EWWW! EWWW! But she wouldn't stop playing with all the "pumpkin guts" Dad and Austin carved his little pumpkin from our garden, it was still mostly green. And then he was in a trance watching the Charlie Brown Halloween Special...I loved that when I was little (still do). Tomorrow is the "big day" Austin is so excited. We are going to go Trunk-or-Treating. For those of you that don't know what that is, it's where everyone gathers together in the church parking lot in their cars and then you pass out candy from your trunk (a lot of people will decorate their trunks) as the little kids go car to car. It makes it a little easier for the little ones. I made 189 ghost suckers, I hope that will be enough. Of course we will update you all with pictures of tomorrow night! Hope you all have Happy Halloween!!

?!?! MURDER MYSTERY ?!?!

Tonight Chad and I got invited to our first murder mystery dinner party. It was so much fun. It was set in a vineyard in Napa Valley. Chad was an FBI agent who hated wine but loved beer named BUD WIZER. I was a former Napa Valley Pageant Princess turned movie star named MARILYN MERLOT back at the vineyard to gloat about my success. When an earthquake shook the vineyard mansion and revealed a dead body in the wine cellar floor boards. It was fun to act out the parts and see the story unfold. Chad and I want to host one for sure, maybe in January after the holidays when it is dull and there is nothing going on.....

HAPPY FALL Y'ALL

We have been enjoying the recent fall weather because we are able to go outside and stay for longer than 10 min at a time. Alyssa was having fresh air withdrawls and this week we have definitely made up for it. The kids just had their flu shots this week so we are hoping that we will have a healthier winter than we have had this month. Enjoy some of our fall pics.

Game On!!

Austin started soccer today with his cousin Abby. They are the littlest ones on the team. They didn't have enough people sign up so rather than just playing with the 3-4 year old he is playing with kids ranging from 3-6 years old They were both a little intimidated today. Abby was almost frozen with fear and found a "safe spot" and didn't move an inch. Austin slowly walked in the direction of the ball and kicked it a few times. After half time he had a "moment" He wanted to go home and take a nap.
.

He snapped out of that and decided to get back in the game and he felt a little more comfortable and started playing more! It was way cute, seeing him in his shin guards and his little soccer shirt. We learned our lesson to make sure he takes his nap BEFORE the game next week!!

Halloween is coming so I decided to take the kids to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin before all the good ones were taken. They were amazed at all the pumpkins that were there. We only have 1 tiny one in our garden and it is still green! They ran through the patch saying let get this one, no, this one, no this one!! They were way excited!! We had a lot of fun!! Austin liked to pull the wagon and Alyssa liked being pulled so it was perfect! An hour and 10 pumpkins later...and even a white squash that we turned into a ghost. We went home and I let the kids decorate their little mini pumpkins, and we will wait until it is closer to Halloween when Chad can do his magic carving...he is the master at carving pumpkins!! We can't wait for Halloween!!

I'm a BIG KID now!!

I can't believe it!! My house is almost "baby" free. We are taking our last boxes of infant clothes and the biggest piece of equipment that signifies that there is a baby in the house....da da da...Alyssa's crib!! Over to Chad's brother Casey's house tomorrow. They are having a little boy in February. I know I should be happy and excited and I am, but a little sad to see my little baby girl, out of her crib and in a big girl bed. Austin and Alyssa share a room. Unfortunately the room is a little small and if we gave them 2 separate beds they would have no space whatsoever. So we got every child's dream bed....BUNKBEDS!!! They love it... Alyssa knows how to climb up the ladder (thanks to dad) and we practiced with Austin climbing up and down the ladder in the dark for those middle of the night, scary dreams, run to mom and dads room as fast you can nights...he is a PRO!! It's tough having a boy and a girl sharing a room, not for them they love it. But for me...because they have so many cute room decorating ideas and I would love to go all out but I think it turned out perfect!! I took a picture of them last night before bed and then another one of them this morning. They did GREAT!!! I can't believe I have 2 big kids now and not a baby, baby anymore....(shh don't tell them, but they will always be my babies)
