Water babies

We had yet another great week! This one was by far the best. Chad and I celebrated our 5 year wedding Anniversary on Tuesday June 19Th. Our Moms were so nice! They helped us out by watching the kids, while we stayed overnight at The Anniversary Inn. We stayed in the Romeo and Juliet Suite. The same Suite we stayed in on our wedding night. I wont go into details but it was very romantic. We had dinner that night at The Garden Restaurant and we had an amazing view from our table right by the windows...It was GREAT! The next day we walked around Memory grove (Where Chad proposed) and reminisced about that life changing night. We took in 2 movies (oceans 13, and knocked up)and went to lunch at Chads favorite-The Olive Garden. We had a great time. It was nice to get home and see the kids but it was so nice to have that time with just the two of us!! Chad was able to stay home with me and the kids all week. We took the kids down to Gateway and let them play in the fountains...They had so much fun, and although I wasn't planning on it, I got more soaked than Austin. Alyssa was all for it and was trying to make friends with the other kids. Austin liked observing from the stroller, but then he got more comfortable and joined in. Saturday we went to The Dutch Store with Grandpa Spencer. Chad got some Licorice Bread (Yuck!) and some Stroop waffles (Yum!) Then we went to the Hard Rock Cafe and picked up the souvenir shot glasses and pins (Chad is now collecting from all the Hard Rock Cafes he goes too). Then we went to Chuck a Rama to visit Grandma Rose at work. And what a small world, we saw the Escalante Basketball team there. That night we went over to G & G Green's house for Nick's birthday dinner. The kids played on the Trampoline, or as Austin says "the trampotrine" and Grandma watched the kids while all of us kids (Nick, Kim, Chad and I, Casey and D) went and saw a movie. (3 movies in a week is unheard of for people with kids--we're very lucky) Then today at Church Austin said "I can do this by myself" and walked in to nursery all by himself. We were SO proud! Now we just have to wait until October for Alyssa to go to Nursery. We hope you all had a great week, and an even greater week to come!! Love to you all!

I Love being a MOM

Sometimes after a long week of breaking up fights and calming down tantrums, and having to drown out the cries while you take a 10 second shower, and trying to ignore the wiggling fingers coming from under the bathroom door, I think "I just need a break." But today was one of those days that I was able to sit back and look in on a couple situations that made me say "I love being a Mom"
Austin was getting a little restless from having to be quiet and sit still "all day" at Church (which by the way, he made it another week without Chad in nursery with him) So Chad broke out his big boy bike that G & G Spencer got him for Christmas and started to teach him how to ride...he has tried a couple times and today it just clicked. They called me outside to watch and I was so thrilled!! I mean my heart was full. The smile on his face was from ear to ear he was so proud of himself that he finally got the hang of it. And of course I ran inside to get what else-the camera. It's amazing that something so simple can make me so happy. Chad was definitely a proud daddy, and that just made his Fathers Day. It's amazing to see the things that you teach your children put into action.

On Saturday we went over to my sister Jeana's house to "swim" she has a little pool nothing to fancy. Austin is our little "careful boy" and Alyssa is our "dare-devil" and wants to try everything. However on Saturday Austin got right in and started playing and Austin being the great big brother that he is, was re-assuring Alyssa that everything is OK that it's fun and that she is safe and that he wouldnt let anything happen to her. I almost cried right there.

Sometimes it seems they do everything they can to push your buttons, and say and do naughty things and I remember that they are only 21/2 and 1 and that if I think this is badI have another thing coming once they are Teenagers---yikes! Luckily we have these moments that make it all worth while and give you the feeling of "I love being a MOM!!"

Friends

Today I was feeling so much better than the last couple of days, I think the antibiotics finally did their magic and got rid of the bug!! Just in time too, a good friend of mine from Discover is moving to Vernal, Utah and quitting Discover. So we got together to celebrate this change! We went to Johnny Carrino's (yummy!)for lunch, and got her a gift card so she could buy some new things for her new town home.
It is always nice getting together with friends and catching up on every ones life, I only wish we could get together more!

Yuck!!

So, I am sick!! It started on Saturday, I could feel the aches coming on but tried to pretend it wasn't there. Then it really hit me WHAM!! My mom finally talked me into making a Doctors Appointment and it turns out I have Bronchitis/Pneumonia--YUCK!! This is the worst I have felt in a long time! It is so hard because I need to take care of my little ones, Alyssa also has a cough and a runny nose. I absolutely HATE being sick!!!

Another GREAT weekend!!

Just wondered if anyone else has noticed that for some reason the time passes by so much faster on Sundays than any other day of the week? It is so not fair! If only the work days would go by as fast. I know the time doesnt actually go by faster but it sure does seem like it....
We went to this great new restaurant up in Fort Union next to Jamba Juice called Johnnie Beefs. If you like hotdogs this is the place to go!! It is very reasonably priced as well. We went with Mom and Rich and it was delicious. They have Chicago Dogs, Spicy Polish Dogs, even a Utah Dog, for those who want to play it safe (Kristen)..I highly reccomend it!
That night we went to The Spaghetti Factory and we were putting ourselves out there because we have had a horrible experience the last 2 times we have been there, and "coincidentally" enough with the same waitress both times. Luckily this time went smoothe we had a differeny waitor and we got a gallon of spumoni to go (yummy) and even ran into some old friends.( Hi Kristi and Jeremy)
We went ice blocking again, and we are really prefecting this "sport" Austin is a little nervous to try it, but Alyssa wants to go all by herself. Kristen did have a slight accident and fell pretty hard, it knocked the wind out of her and she hit her head pretty hard so if you go remember to be careful. Oh ya and the big news for our family happened Saturday night....Alyssa learned to go down the stairs..she didnt try it out like most babies on their stomache or bum, no she decided to WALK down them.(She is such a BIG Girk, atleast she thinks so) She made it successfully down 5 stairs holding on to the wall, I quickly taught her to go down backwards on her stomache and she is a pro now and can make it down our 13 stairs in no time flat....Hope you have all have a Great week!!
Love you all!!

Dancing Queen

On Wednesday night grace had her dance recital, and we were lucky enough to be able to make it. She did AWESOME she is really the best little dancer in her class, it just comes so naturally to her, and I am not just being biased. All the girls looked so cute and they did an awesome job, I love going to those things. I cant help it but while sitting in the audience I feel myself start to move to the music. Melissa and Mark were thinking of changing dance companies so if anyone has any suggestions please, let me know and I will pass it on to her!!
Great Job Grace!!!

Ice Blocking

Chad and I were a little bored and got the idea to go ice blocking. Ice blocking is where you sit on a big block of ice and slide down a big hill while sitting on top of the block of ice. Luckily my sister Jeana finds our ideas to be exciting, and even more lucky she has a hill right next to her house where the kids go sledding in the winter, so at 11pm we went to Smith's bought 6 blocks of ice and went ice blocking!! Chad was the champion and managed to stay on his block of ice the longest, he even made a little trail, that we all tried out but still couldnt beat him! He also had the bright idea to go down on his stomach head first, I wasnt coordinated enough to do that though. It defintiely cured our boredom!! Now we just have to take care of the grass stains, and few scratches and bruises from where we fell off the block of ice and went rolling and flipping down the hill.....
just an idea for those of you who get bored one night, I promise you'll have a blast!

Bouncin' Off The Walls

First let me say, Happy 6th Birthday Grace!! We had so much fun tonight. It was our neice, Grace, birthday on 05/25 and they had her birthday party tonight at Bouncin' off the walls, which is this amazing place that has a room full of blow up "toys" like a moon walk and a blow up obstacle course and bungee football/basketball and this HUGE slide. The best part is adults can play on all of this too! And for those of us that havent quite grown up yet, it is the perfect place for us to express that inner child. Almost all of the kids in our family have had their birthday parties there so we are PROS now. However this was the first time Austin was brave enough to try these things without Chad and I coaxing him into it. Alyssa (our little dare devil) was loving every minute of it....Thanks again Grace for inviting us, we hope you had a GREAT time because we sure did!! We Love you!!
