This place is a ZOO!

I took the kids to the zoo today, to celebrate that spring really is here! I no longer go to the zoo in the summer time, because the animals are as hot and as miserable as we all are and they just lay in the shade. In the Spring and Fall they are active and moving all around and making all sorts of crazy noises!! I would highly reccomend going in March or October, so if you are thinking about going....GO!

P.S. I have gotten a few e-mails about our Escalante trip and Easter....I dropped our camera and it broke :( I will post those pictures soon!

Family Dinner

Chad's Aunt Viki and cousin Margo came up to Salt Lake from Arizona to visit. We all got together tonight for a family dinner. It was good to see everyone. I can't believe how much everyone changes each time I see them.
Babies were the hot topic of discussion tonight. Viki's daughter had her 3rd AND 4th daughter--TWINS, on Valentines Day. Their names are Isabelle and Olivia. Kim had her little baby Seth not too long ago on November 18th and Casey and D had their first little babyboy-Preston on February 27th. So our family has had a bit of baby fever!! And because I get to be the aunt and not the new mommy this time around, I am loving every minute of it (baby is snuggly and cute in my arms...baby starts crying and goes to mom or dads arms)... It was good to see everyone, and thanks for putting up with my what seems to be non-stop picture taking...I just love our family!!!

Alyssa said good bye to her bink

Bye Bye Binky

Alyssa had a binki and loved it dearly!! She gave it up all on her own right around her first birthday...whew! She still had a bottle but only at bedtime. At 18 months we said goodbye to bottle. She was fussy for the first few nights, my mom offered to get her to sleep, I agreed to let her try. And what ever she did was working. Well, come to find out my mom had been sneaking her, her binki that she gave up 6 months ago!!! I was so angry. especially now that she really knew what it was and would ask for it. I gave in. She is my last little baby, and I wanted to keep her that way just a little longer. Well I decided by her second birthday that would be it, I would take them all away. One day at nap time, I couldn't find her binki anywhere. She now, needed it to fall asleep. I decided to try anyway. She screamed and cried calling out for her 'B'..."want my B, want my B" I wasn't trying to be mean, I truly couldnt find one. She finally fell asleep... I thought to myself that wasn't so bad, a few more days of this and she will be done. So it has been almost 2 months without her 'B'...and tonight she asked it for it again. She asks about it here and there and I just tell her doesn't need it anymore and that she is a big girl now. She goes along with it. The hard thing is my neice that I tend everyday has a binki and sometimes Alyssa will see it lying around and pick it up and put it in her mouth. Then when she sees me she pulls it out as fast as she can...it makes me feel a little sad. How have all of you dealt with this?!?!?

Spring Fever

Horton hears a Who

My brothers Matt and Kevin were nice enough to take Austin and some of Austin's cousins to go see the new Dr. Suess movie 'Horton hears a Who' When he got home I asked him if he gives it thumbs up or thumbs down and in the words of Austin he gave it "two thumth up!"

Signs of Spring---Hooray!

This weekend I decided to start my "Spring Cleaning" I always have big ideas and am disappointed when I don't complete all I set out to do. I hate leaving things unfinished. So I woke up bright and early and started right away. Well, I still didn't finish all I wanted to do, but I have a few more weeks before Spring is officially here.
On Saturday night we went to Chad's Championship Hockey Game where they won! I don't really ever get to watch the games, I am more of the referee (with the kids) and visiting with family. But I do love the bits and pieces I happen to get a glimpse of. I got to see Seth, who looked like he had grown so much especially after seeing little Preston, and pictures of my friends little baby boy who was just born.
On Saturday Chad also set up the trampoline and the kids fell in love all over again. I have a love/hate relationship with that thing. I loved mine growing up and jumped on it everyday and slept on it on the weekends. So I talked Chad into buying one and as we were setting it up Chad and I were talking about all the injuries he and I got and saw other people get. So now I am worried every time the kids get on to play.
Since we will be out of town Easter Weekend and next weekend is Stake Conference I dressed the kids in their Easter Sunday outfits. They looked so dang cute!! Alyssa is such a girl. She was twirling around and walking like she knew she was 'all that' Except when I was trying to get a picture. She wouldn't she smile and she was moving all over the place. I bribed her with some bubblegum and that finally worked for about 3.2 seconds, but I snapped the picture and called it good.
After Church we were wanting to go on a family walk, to take advantage of the warm weather. Austin wanted to ride his bike instead of riding in the stroller. We didn't think he would make it the whole way (a little over 2 miles) but he made it the whole way without a whine, whimper or complaint. Hopefully he will be tired and go to bed early tonight....yeah right!!! Happy Spring!
**(Notice Alyssa's hair in her picture holding up '2'. She always pulls out her hair after I do it and Casey and D call her Alyssa Hoo, from the Grinch movie with Jim Carey how all the Hoo's have CrAzY hair. I think it's cute!)

OUCH!!!

So I was back at the Dr. Office Yesterday. We definitely take advantage of our health insurance. The Doctor even joked that our room in the back was almost ready for us to move in. Alyssa had a bad rash on her cheeks they call it "slap-cheek" They were bright red and she had a rash all over her body. The next day Austin woke up with a horrible rash starting on his neck and covering his chest and abdomen. Turns out Alyssa has fifth disease (sounds worse than it is) it's a virus that will go away on it's own. And Austin has horrible eczema. Which I knew, but I have never seen it that bad. So I had to suck it up and pay $17 for this skin ointment. It works though by that night it had improved sooo much! And then today I was running up the stairs and tripped over my own big toe, and broke it---ouch!! I have it in a splint, and that has helped but, I am amazed at how much I use my big toe. Chad just got his test results back from the Doctor about his Cholesterol and found out they couldn't test certain things because his triglycerides were too high, and has to go get tested again...I swear we are falling apart!!
