He who must not be named...

Yesterday 02/27/08~After 41 weeks and 1 day (that is 8 days overdue) Casey and D went to the hospital to be induced and bring their little bundle of joy into the world. After hours of labor and no progression, their Doctor decided it would be best to have a c-section. At 6:59pm little "he who must not be named" was born weighing in at 7lbs. 14oz. 21" long. He is so sweet and very alert. You can definitely tell he is Casey and D's baby. He has strong traits from both of them. Mom and Dad are still working on a name. I am sure whatever they decide will be perfectly fitting!
Congratulations...you guys did a great job, he is beautiful!

He's Here!

Another Spencer Sickness update...

Last night we had another trip to the instacare. Turns out Alyssa has a double ear infection so she started her antibiotics today!! Hopefully we will all be feeling better soon! We need to, we have a new little nephew coming soon. (2 days) Casey and D will go into the hospital tomorrow to be induced. She will be 41 weeks and is so ready for this baby to be born. So we are hoping for a baby on Wednesday. I cant wait to meet this little man, And hopefully a name will come to them when they see his cute little face!
I started the week off great with a trip to the endodontist for a root canal....ouch! And let me tell you that is quite the experience when you have a head cold. I am feeling OK right now thanks to my little friend Lor Tab :)

Why can't we get better update

Yesterday Alyssa started getting the croupy cough, but it wasn't as tight as Austin's sounded. But she couldn't even sleep during nap time because of the constant coughing. Later that night I called the Doctor to find out if there was something I could give her to help the cough so she could sleep, she insisted I go into the instacare as their office was already closed. I gave Alyssa a nice steam filled bath and got her jammies on and went to the instacare. While we were waiting she was getting hotter and hotter, by the time we were seen she had a temperature of 102.7!! Well, it turns out there are two different kinds of croup. Croup without a fever and Croup with a fever. Austin had the kind with out and Alyssa obviously had the kind with. So she got her steroid meds and an extra dose to take home if it didn't sound like it was getting better. And I needed to treat her fever aggressively alternating Tylenol and Motrin. They also told me I should sleep with her so I could monitor her breathing, because if it gets too shallow I needed to take her to the ER. Needless to say we are both sleep deprived today.

Why can't we get better?!?!?

I feel like at least one person in our family has been sick since October. We can't get better...I had a sinus infection in January along with a cold/fever... well, I havent ever gotten 100% better, last week I felt like I had strep throat so another trip to the Doctor and I am on my second round of antibiotics....I am miserable. Alyssa had an eye infection and ear infection and after antibiotics she was better but now she has a cough...I guess tonight I will find out if it is croup. Austin woke up last night barely able to breathe, he was coughing and gasping for air. So I wrapped him in his blanket and took him outside to open his air way with the cold air (Austin has had croup several times and I learned this trick when he was only months old), and it helped...this morning I took him to the Doctor to find out what I already knew...he had croup! So they gave him a dose of steroids to relax his air way and open it up. So we will see how it goes, he just crashed about an hour ago....so not like him! I have even gone to the extreme of washing all of our walls and floors with an anti-bacterial cleanser and washed all the bedding and drapes and blinds. Changed the filter in the furnace and bought plastic cups and threw them away after each use. And that was BEFORE Austin and Alyssa came down with this cough. No pictures with this post...we all look AWFUL!!

Tubing at Soldier Hollow

We had sooo much fun today! We dropped the kids off with Chad's mom (Thanks Luan) and headed up to Park City with my neice Ashley and My big brother Jeff and his girlfriend Jen, to go tubing at Soldier Hollow. It's the lazy mans way to sled...you pick out your tube and then walk over and they hook your tube to a tow that pulls you up the mountain....the best idea EVER!! Then they have sledding lanes so it's already nice and slick for you to go down, when we got there we realized it was more kid friendly than we thought...they have little mini tubes that the kids can climb inside, so next time we are bringing the kids~~~it was awesome...we will be going again for sure!

Tubing!

Valentines Day!

This is the beautiful necklace Chad got for me...it's our cute little family...

So ever since Chad and I had kids, our Valentines Day celebrations have never fallen in the category of romantic. For one reason or another we are at the Doctors office, with the kids. So this year we decided to change it up a bit...we all went to the DENTIST!!! It was Austin and Alyssa's first time....they did AWESOME! Austin was so relaxed just watching cartoons on the ceiling, that after they were all done with his cleaning he fell asleep!
Alyssa opened her mouth big and wide and let them look around, she even surprised the Dentist at how cooperative she was.
After we were all done they let them pick a prize! I am glad this was such a positive experience for them. Now they wont be afraid when we go back in 6 months...(keeping my fingers crossed)

This is my nephews Valentine Box that I made for him...I thought it was cool:

Birthday Surprise!!!

Birthday Surprise!

Chad is turning 28 tomorrow! So this weekend I decided to set up a little birthday surprise. I made him some very yummy breakfast. Smith's bakery makes this cinnamon bread that is perfect for french toast...it turned out perfectly! Then I told him I had an "activity" planned. For some reason he had it in his head that we were going to a play. I wasn't about to spoil my surprise because he is impossible to surprise!!
(1st ruined surprise) I tried surprising him with a surprise vacation to Las Vegas for his 23rd birthday and we were seconds away from pulling out of the driveway when he decides to go in and freshen up his deoderant...but it wasnt there I already packed it!!
(2nd ruined surprise) I "stole" his wedding ring to get it engraved for our 5 year anniversary. And he never goes a moment without wearing it so that was hard enough getting it away from him. Then I was forced to lie as he was grilling me about it. Then on our way to dinner when I was going to surprise him with his newly engraved ring, I ran in to my sisters house to drop off the kids, and he found the receipt in the car (that was very well hidden)!!!
(3rd ruined surprise) this one is kind of my fault. I set up a 1/2 year anniversary weekend getaway to what I thought was Midway, Utah....but it turned out to be Midvalley, Utah ....for those of you that dont live in Utah...Miday way is beautiful mountain scenery, an escape from everything. Midvalley is accross the street from Spaghetti Factory in the heart of Taylorsville, Utah. We got to the hotel and I was soooo embarassed....we ended up just going home...I have never been able to live this one down. I could go on and on and on....
Ah! but this year, I was bound not to fail. I went to the extreme to keep this a secret and told no one. I surprised him with a very relaxing couples massage. It was very much needed and very much deserved. It was a gift for him but a bonus for me because I enjoyed it too! Afterwards we went to lunch, at good ol' Carls Jr.
That night we met up with his family for dinner at the Olive Garden (Chads Fav.) After dinner we played games at his moms house...it was a great day!
Chad was also able to go to Cabella's to look for his birthday present from the kids, and the kids got to enjoy all the animals and the yummy cinnamon roasted almonds. Then we had a little "party" with my family tonight where we made a cake and sang happy birthday to him and my brothers girlfriend Jen. It was a very busy very fun weekend.

Little Woman

Alyssa was walking around all day in her "high heels" that she got for Christmas. She thought she was so BIG. She even had this Diva attitude going along with it. Later on that day I saw the heels had been tossed aside and she was asking me to help her put on her comfy bunny slippers....
she's a woman already!

Austin's first time on the ice

ChAdS HoCkEy StOp

What we have been up to

Look Who's Going on the BIG GIRL Potty

Alyssa has always thought of herself as a big girl. I really dont think she knew she was a baby, and always did things waaay ahead of schedule. Well, she has been asking to go on the potty ever since she was about 14 months old, and I let her and never pushed anything, but now SHE is pushing ME right along, so I guess we are going to start "potty training" I am not going to get serious until she is '2' but I thought this picture was cute...it shows how proud of herself she is!!

Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!

I have the best sister in laws...ever!!! Here I was on Saturday getting ready to go over to what I thought was Chad's brothers house to have lunch and play games, when I started getting suspicious that something else was up, when I was the first one to be ready and in the car and CHAD was inside stalling. When I went in to see what the hold up was, he couldnt give an answer and just as I was on my way back out to the car, my sister in laws Kim and Asenath came through the door saying they were kidnapping me....and off we went! They took me to Hale Centre Theatre and we saw the play 'Lend Me a Tenor' it was so cute and so funny, I had the best time!! They did this for me because I have been stressed lately with all the kid-watching I have been doing....so Thank you so much for thinking of me, and giving me a breath of fresh air and taking me out (kid-free) for the afternoon to just relax....you guys are THE BEST!!!

Chad's funny quote

Chad: "I kind of hope Alyssa turns out to be a lesbian"
Me: "Why?!?!!?"
Chad: "Because men are gross!"

I dont necessarily agree with Chad on this...but I do agree men are gross!
