Smashing Pumpkins

My mom and I took the kids to the pumpkin patch and corn maze recommended by my friend Shyann (thank you!) They were so excited to go! And then when we got there and they told us they could sit on each tractor (there were about 10 or more) they about burst with excitement!!! Half our time there was spent climbing up and down each tractor, they were in heaven! I gave each of the kids a wheelbarrow ride through the pumpkin patch while we picked our pumpkins, they had a lot of fun, looking at each one 'til they found the "perfect" pumpkin for them. There was a big green one that Austin was so confused by, he got up close and really examined it, our "little professor" he was so cute! Alyssa insisted on "riding" each one like a pony. Abby had to find one that was perfectly round and a long "hat" (stem) And Haylie was just a long for the ride. After our pumpkin search we went through the corn maze. Made just for the little ones. At first Austin was a little nervous but he insisted on going first so he could protect the girls..so sweet! Then he realized nothing to be scared of and they were all giggling and running and having a blast! When we came to the end they wanted to go again! My moms legs about had it at that point so we called it a day at the pumpkin patch. We have to go back again though. You'll see why...

When we got home we decorated the pumpkins and drew faces and colored them perfectly! (why didn't we carve them you ask? we tried this one year, and it was me at the table carving 4 pumpkins while the kids were off playing, there is not a whole lot of carving 2, 4 year olds and 2, 2 year olds can do.) Then we put them on our porch to decorate, and show off their creations!
This is the sad part. When we got up the next morning the kids opened the front door to see how their little 'punkins' did, and we saw this...

Thanks a lot punks!!! Your lucky Austin (our very own jedi) didn't see you last night!!!
The kids were so sad!! They couldn't imagine why anyone would do that. Neither can I, but I know it happens, but the kids had to walk up and see the scribbled drawing all over them and known it was done by young kids....oh well. Good news, for the kids we are going back to the pumpkin patch...bad news for me....I will be going it alone and have no idea how I am going to get them to leave?!?!?

I'm sorry your pumpkins got smashed. That stinks! I'm sure your kids won't mind going back though. :)

I saw the remains on the ground. So sad and so senseless.
